The Raised Bed Company announces its first Signature Raised Bed

There are exciting times ahead at The Raised Bed Company.

Since launching, every raised bed we have created has been completely bespoke, individually designed and handcrafted around each client’s garden, planting scheme and requirements. That approach isn’t changing, and bespoke raised beds will always remain at the heart of what we do.

However, over the past year we’ve found ourselves asking a simple question.

If we were to create just one Signature Raised Bed, what plant deserves that level of thought, craftsmanship and attention to detail?

The answer was obvious, lavender.

Not because it’s fashionable, but because it’s one of Britain’s most loved and recognisable plants. It’s also one of the most rewarding, attracting bees and butterflies, filling the air with fragrance and bringing structure, colour and movement to the garden.

Lavender has always represented everything we love about gardens. Fragrance, pollinators, colour, structure and a sense of calm. It deserved a raised bed designed specifically around it rather than simply being planted inside one.

Rather than simply designing another raised bed, we’ve spent months considering how the timber, proportions and planting work together to create something that is as enjoyable for people as it is beneficial for the lavender itself.

The result is our very first Signature Lavender Raised Bed.

We’ll be revealing the full story behind it very soon, including the thinking, craftsmanship and philosophy that shaped its design.

See us for the first time at the Oak Fair

We’re delighted to announce that The Raised Bed Company will be exhibiting at this year’s Oak Fair, taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday 30th and Monday 31st August 2026, at the beautiful Stock Gaylard Estate in Dorset.

Now celebrating more than twenty years, Oak Fair has become one of Dorset’s best-loved countryside events, bringing together more than 200 exhibitors to celebrate timber, conservation, traditional crafts and rural life. More than just a country show, it’s a place where makers, craftsmen and visitors come together to share ideas, demonstrate skills and celebrate quality workmanship.

We couldn’t think of a more fitting place to introduce our first Signature Raised Bed than an event that has spent more than two decades celebrating timber, craftsmanship and conservation.

As a Dorset business, we’re incredibly proud to be exhibiting at an event whose values closely reflect our own. Sustainability, craftsmanship, longevity and a genuine respect for timber sit at the heart of everything we build.

You’ll find us in the Machinery & Timber Yard, alongside our timber supplier and sponsor of the area. It’s the perfect setting to discover how our raised beds are made, learn about the traditional Yakisugi process and experience the craftsmanship for yourself.

Visitors will be able to see our raised beds up close and explore the unique texture created by the Yakisugi process.

We’ll also have examples of the timber at different stages of the finishing process and will be happy to answer questions about raised bed design, timber selection and creating gardens that are built to last.

Whether you’re looking for something truly unique for your garden, planning a larger landscape project, working as a garden designer, or simply exploring the potential of beautifully crafted outdoor spaces, we’d love to meet you, hear about your ideas and introduce you to the next chapter of The Raised Bed Company.

The Oak Fair is only the beginning

While the Oak Fair will be the first opportunity to see our Signature Lavender Raised Bed, it certainly won’t be the last.

Soon afterwards, our Signature Lavender Raised Beds will find their permanent home in a beautiful Dorset setting, where visitors will be able to see, smell and experience them exactly as intended.

We’ll be revealing more about this exciting partnership very soon.

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for The Raised Bed Company. While bespoke raised beds will always remain at the heart of our business, we’re looking forward to introducing our first Signature Raised Bed and meeting visitors at one of Dorset’s finest celebrations of timber, craftsmanship and the countryside.

If you’re visiting the Oak Fair this August Bank Holiday, please come and say hello. We’d love to meet you, hear about your garden and introduce you to the next chapter of The Raised Bed Company.
